Our Conservation Project is located in Kenya, specifically around Lake Nakuru. Lake Nakuru National Park serves as a vital sanctuary for endangered species, such as rhinos and Rothschild giraffes, and is recognized as an Important Bird Area (IBA). It has received prestigious international conservation accolades, including designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Ramsar site, making it an exceptional venue for wildlife observation and a successful haven for both black and white rhinos.
Participants in the Baboon Project Kenya volunteer program will partake in critical activities, which include ecological monitoring, wildlife tracking, conducting population censuses, and the removal of invasive plant species that pose a threat to the ecosystem. Furthermore, you will assess water quality and identify pollution sources at Lake Nakuru. On a community level, your contributions will bolster our ongoing reforestation efforts under the Green Schools project, which involves tree planting and monitoring progress at primary schools near Lake Nakuru National Park. A wildlife specialist will be available to provide guidance and training throughout your participation.
